Plan by named place, not by district. List each village or property, give a map pin and an on-site contact, and decide which moments at each stop must not be missed. Where stops are far apart, separate coverage blocks usually protect key moments better than squeezing everything into one short package.
Sik is the largest district in Kedah, about 1,635 square kilometres according to a state gazette. Villages, schools, lake edges and hill settlements are spread out, so "Sik" alone does not tell a crew where to be. This page helps you turn a spread-out day into a plan with named stops. For the state overview, see event photography in Kedah.
Which villages or properties are included?
The Kedah tourism brochure for Sik names several places that visitors and hosts mention. These include Rock Village at Kampung Kura in Jeniang, which offers accommodation, camping and viewpoints, and Gunung Kemerlong (706 m), a hiking peak. It also lists Hutan Lipur Lata Mengkuang, Tasik Beris, Bukit Saiong, Taman Awam Sik and Dataran Sik Lestari. Gulau is another settlement in the district. Tasik Pedu, a lake of about 52 square kilometres built in 1966 mainly for irrigation, lies in the wider area.
Treat each of these as a separate address with its own owner. A district name will not guide a crew from the highway to a village hall. For each stop, send a map pin, the road name or nearest landmark, and the name of the person who meets us.
If a stop is a public site such as a recreational forest or a lake edge, ask the manager whether group photography is allowed. The state has also discussed redeveloping Tasik Pedu, and a recreation project at Mong Gajah was reported as due for completion in April 2026. Confirm what is open for your date before you plan to photograph there.
What communication is available at each venue?
In rural stops, mobile coverage can be uneven, especially near hills and forest. We cannot say what signal a given village has. Ask the host.
- Give two phone numbers for each stop, in case one is out of range.
- Ask a contact to wait at the turn-off, not only at the venue.
- Agree a fixed time at which the crew moves on if people are late.
- Send arrival instructions in writing the day before.
Our guide to remote and rural event locations explains what we ask about access and signal.
Should the day be one block or several?
A short package that tries to cover four stops often protects none of them. Travel between villages takes time that is easy to underestimate, and a late start at the first stop pushes everything back.
Consider separate coverage blocks for the stops that matter most, for example a morning school programme and an evening family event. Between blocks, the crew can travel and rest. Rank the moments you cannot lose at each stop. Use the concurrent activity and crew planner to see where two things happen at once. For the logic behind a priority list, see run sheets, priorities and staffing.
Weather and season
MET Malaysia publishes forecasts and explains the monsoon and inter-monsoon seasons that bring heavy rain to northern states. A news report on flash floods in Sik described a school at Gulau being used as a relief centre. Ask the host whether any stop floods or becomes hard to reach in heavy rain, and agree who decides to change the route.
A hypothetical example
Imagine a school and family weekend with three stops: a school hall in the morning, a family lunch at a village home and an evening gathering at a homestay in Jeniang. The host sends pins for each, a contact at each, and ranks the moments: the school ceremony, the family prayer and the group photograph at the homestay. We propose two blocks, one for the morning and lunch and one for the evening, with a travel and rest gap between them. This is only an illustration.
What to send us
- The names of the settlements and the venue at each stop.
- Map pins and arrival instructions.
- Two contact numbers for each stop.
- Whether each venue is ready at the planned time.
- The moments that cannot be missed at each stop.
Our team accepts enquiries for Sik and confirms travel, crew and timing in writing for each booking. Nearby areas such as Baling and Yan are planned the same way.
Checklist
- List every settlement, hall or property by name.
- Send a map pin and arrival instructions for each.
- Provide two contact numbers for each stop.
- Confirm that each venue is ready and open at the planned time.
- Rank the non-negotiable moments at each stop.
- Decide whether one long block or separate blocks suits the route.
Send us the settlement names, the order of stops and the moments that matter at each. We confirm the route, crew and coverage blocks in writing.
Plan our multi-stop coverageCommon questions
Why do you need a map pin and not just the village name?
Village names can cover a wide area, and similar names exist in different districts. A map pin or clear arrival instructions lets the crew find the right gate or hall. Also give an alternate phone number in case mobile coverage is weak at one stop.
Is it better to book one long block or several short ones?
It depends on the distances and the waiting time. Several shorter blocks can protect key moments and reduce idle time, while one long block suits stops close together. We compare both in your quotation.
Who should guide the crew between stops?
One family member or committee member who knows the route is ideal. They can meet the crew at each stop or travel ahead. Without this, delays are common.
What if a stop runs late?
Agree beforehand which moments are essential at each stop and what gets shortened. This avoids losing a key moment because an earlier one ran over. Write the priority order down and share it.

Plan our multi-stop coverage
Send us the settlement names, the order of stops and the moments that matter at each. We confirm the route, crew and coverage blocks in writing.
What happens next: You send your event details on WhatsApp. Our team reads the brief, asks what is missing, then confirms in writing whether the date, venue and coverage can be booked, with a quotation. Opening WhatsApp does not send anything, and a message is not a booking until both sides confirm.
