Event Photography Malaysia

Privacy notice

You are sharing names, dates and venues with us, and you want to know what happens to them.

Short answer

We collect the details you send us to reply to you, prepare a quotation, plan and photograph your event and deliver the photographs. We use them only for that and for running our business. You can ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to stop using it, by messaging us.

What this notice covers

This notice explains how we handle personal information about people who use this website, enquire about photography or book with us. It also covers information about guests that a host passes to us for planning. It is written in plain language. It is also under review, and the date at the end shows when it was last updated.

Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 governs how personal data used in commercial activity must be handled. The Personal Data Protection Department publishes the law and its guidance. We refer you to the Department's website for the official texts, including the 2024 amendment.

What do we collect?

We collect what you give us:

  • your name and how to contact you
  • the event details you send, such as date, venue, programme and guest numbers
  • any preferences about photography, access or sharing that you tell us
  • the messages we exchange with you
  • for bookings, the name and address needed for a quotation and invoice

Do not send identity numbers or payment card details in an enquiry. We will tell you if we need anything further.

Why do we use it?

We use your information to reply to you, prepare a quotation, plan the event, photograph it, deliver the photographs and handle changes or questions afterwards. We also use it to keep records of what was agreed.

Photographs of people at your event are personal information too. How they are shared, kept and used is set by what you agree with us, as described in photography privacy and publication choices and in the guide on event photography privacy, permission and image use.

Who can see it?

Our team can see it, as needed to do the work. Where a tool or service is used to send messages, store files or deliver galleries, that provider handles the data on our behalf. If photographs are stored on cloud services that may sit outside Malaysia, cloud galleries and cross-border photo-data handling explains the questions worth asking. We confirm with you in writing how your gallery is delivered and who has access.

We do not sell your information. We share it with others, such as a venue or a sponsor, only when you ask us to or when you have agreed.

How long do we keep it?

We keep records for as long as we need them to serve you and to keep a proper record of the work. The exact retention periods for enquiries, bookings and photographs are being finalised, and we will state them here once approved. Until then, ask us and we will tell you what applies to your records.

What are your choices?

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it and ask us to stop using it for a purpose. Removal, withdrawal and deletion requests explains what to clarify in advance if you want photographs removed. We respond to requests in writing.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle information, we update this page and its date. Questions about this notice can be sent to us at any time.

To ask about your information, message us with your name and what you would like to know.

Ask about your information

Common questions

Do you sell or share my details for marketing?

No. We use your details to deal with your enquiry or booking. We do not sell them. If we ever want to use them for another purpose, we will ask you first.

Are my answers in the planning tools sent to you?

No. The planning tools run in your browser and your answers stay there unless you choose to save them on your device or send them to us yourself.

Can I ask you to delete my information?

You can ask. Some records, such as a signed quotation, may need to be kept for business or legal reasons. We tell you what we can delete and what we must keep, and why.

Who do I contact about my information?

Message us on WhatsApp using the button on this page, and say that your question is about privacy. We reply in writing.

Ask about your information

To ask about your information, message us with your name and what you would like to know.

What happens next: You send your event details on WhatsApp. Our team reads the brief, asks what is missing, then confirms in writing whether the date, venue and coverage can be booked, with a quotation. Opening WhatsApp does not send anything, and a message is not a booking until both sides confirm.
